We finally made it. All the anticipation was worth it. This past week has been solid parties and get togethers and now tonight we welcome the Trick-or-Treaters. Since our theme this year for our family party was Creepy Carnival, we are going to have a little stand on our front porch offering the little ghouls Popcorn and Cotton Candy. It should be good weather with a little chill in the air. So in other words, a perfect Halloween!
Me personally, I am excited for this night to be over so that I can start working on Halloween. This is the big year for us at ElsBeth Lair. We have this coming year to put us on the map and our goal is to make ElsBeth Lair a household name when it comes to Halloween. I hope anyone who reads this blog will help us out by sharing with their friends and inviting them to visit us here on our webpage.
In my mind Christmas and Halloween have become great friends. Both bring a great amount of joy and happiness to the children. They both offer wonderful decorations. They both create great excitement for the kids, both have the kids bouncing off the walls from sugar overloads, and adults can easily gain 10 lbs. celebrating either holiday.
As I reflect back on my youth, thinking about Christmas Eve and the excitement I had, I couldn’t help but laugh last night talking to my grandson and seeing the similarities between the two holidays. After carving pumpkins, we all sat down and watched Hocus Pocus. As soon as the show was over, he jumped up and said, “That was great! but I have to hurry and get to bed. Tomorrow is Halloween and I am so excited I am not going to be able to sleep much tonight. This morning he was awake before the sun and creeping around the house to see if there were any treats left for him by a monster or two last night. Now I know of two holidays that my grandkids wont sleep very well because of excitement. Halloween Eve and Christmas Eve. As he was cuddling in bed with Grandma and Me early this morning, He said, “You know, the only bad thing about Halloween is that on Christmas I would already be opening presents, but on Halloween I have to wait clear til tonight to go Trick-or Treating.” Oh well, I guess we can’t have everything.
I told you about our family party “The Creepy Carnival” and I thought I would share a few pictures from it. I know that some of my kids have better pictures and I will post them as I acquire them, but with as busy as I was that night. I did happen to get a few pictures taken. I hope you enjoy them.
