Return of the Hamsa Hand

Posted on August 26, 2015 by Doug Parkin

Hey Everyone. I just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know that due to popular demand, I made another Hamsa Hand. You know, the hand with the creepy eyeball in it? I wanted to keep it myself but my wife told me that if I kept everything that I wanted then I would never sell anything. Okay, Okay! I get the message. So check it out in the store. It is in stock and ready to ship.

Okay, my wife left the room. So if you don’t want it then I can use it in my freak show this year for my Carnival Themed Party. It looks great also in a witches apothecary setting, but this year I was thinking of putting it under a glass dome in the freak show and write a little story about it. But, hey, if you do want it, then I guess I can just make another one, of which my wife will make me put it up for sale also, and on and on.

Take a look at it. I love it and it will be sure to add that special creep factor you are looking for. This is not recommended for your desk at work. Your boss watches you enough as it is! The one I just sold, the customer said she was really into the unusual and will display it all year long. What a great idea. Thank you.

Witches version of the Hamsa Hand

Posted on June 28, 2015 by Doug Parkin

The Hamsa Hand has been around since ancient times. It has had many purposes through the years, but the most common one is that it was used as a good luck charm to ward away the Evil Eye.

It was most commonly seen with an open right eye in the palm of the right hand with the fingers pointing downward. It is still seen commonly in jewelry necklaces etc. and is supposed to protect the owner of the amulet from the misdeeds of the Evil Eye.

The witches version is a bit more sinister. ElsBeth uses this hand to lure her unsuspecting victims into her Lair to meet their fate.

It is just the opposite of the Hamsa amulet in that it is the left eye set into the left hand with the fingers pointing upward.

What a great piece to add into any Halloween Decor, but looks ominous and especially creepy sitting next to a witch or her apothecary.

Add this into your decor and you will be sure to get some much desired comments. Everyone that has seen it comes up to it and at some point rubs the eye to see if it might be real. So far it has done its job of luring people to it. Is it just a Halloween decoration, or is it actually staring back at you? LOL!

I am very pleased with the decaying detail. You will love it.
